Juliet Balconies

A juliet balcony is simulated (or false) balcony rather, which unlike a full 'proper' balcony doesn't protrude out from the side of a building.

The design is basically a very shallow balcony (sometimes only inches deep) with balustrades or railings at the front, allowing you to replace a conventional window with patio doors or provide a safety barrier in front of french windows.
